Here’s How Go Nimbly Self-Manages...So You Don't Have To

One of the functions of an effective RevOps team is to manage the work they have prioritized and strategized on. When the team is fully internal, this is something that’s just understood. There’s no fear of extra project management work for department leaders or executives, and the same should be true if and when you choose to outsource your RevOps team. 
In the past, bringing consultants into the operations of your business meant some guaranteed initial hand-holding. Being that they weren’t actually part of your organization, perhaps there was some concern that there would be a difference in priorities or incentive when it came to providing value. 
But you can get the operational support and resources you need without having to add extra project management to your plate. Here's how we self-manage at Go Nimbly. 
We Strategize & Plan.
Ohhh it’s been a couple hours since we’ve talked or written about 3VC and roadmapping, so we’re due, right? The first step, before getting into any hands-on-keyboard work, is to get to know your business—processes, systems, and pain points—and build a roadmap that prioritizes work based on its revenue impact. If you’re new here, the framework we use to do that prioritizing is called 3VC, which stands for Value, Volume, Velocity, and Conversion. 
We Solution. 
This, of course, is where we work to find the best possible fix for whatever issue is next on the roadmap. Whether it’s strategic or something a bit more technical, we leverage the wide range of experience and perspectives on each RevOps team and present you with a recommendation, as well as our reasoning behind it. 
We Scope. 
Once you’re happy with the solution and we’ve decided on a course of action, we will create a scope statement. This means documenting the reasons behind the workstream and mapping out everything that will go into it in order to create a single source of truth for your team and ours. 
We Estimate. 
From the scope statement, we create a time estimate for the work. Our rule of thumb when estimating is to be both ambitious and realistic; this means that we determine how long the workstream is most likely to take, with our team working at a pace that’s fast, but doesn’t sacrifice quality. Fun Fact: Our estimates are always ranges, and the high end of the range (in hours) is the most we’ll charge for. 
We Execute. 
It probably goes without saying, but this is where we do the damn thing. Your program manager will be in pretty much constant communication with you as our team progresses through the workstream; however, they will also be managing pacing, resourcing, and anything else that falls under the umbrella of project management.
